Bindery

Terms of Service

Last updated: 30 October 2026

These terms are a contract between you and My Tomo Space Ltd, trading as Bindery, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17394661) with its registered office at 10 Whittle Road, London SE3 9GT ("Bindery", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using bindery.london you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of these terms.

Contact: [email protected].

1. What Bindery is

Bindery turns your photographs into books. You upload photographs, sort them, choose a style, and Bindery designs the book — some styles are laid out from templates, others are illustrated page by page by artificial intelligence. You can read your books on the website, members can download them in high resolution, and you can order printed copies, which are produced by our print partner and delivered within the United Kingdom.

Bindery is currently in an invitation-only beta. Features may change, and we may add, alter or withdraw styles and functions as the service develops.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password private; tell us at once if you think someone else has used it. One person, one account. Accounts, credits and memberships may not be sold, lent or transferred, and we may close accounts that are.

You may close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. Unused purchased credits are not refunded when an account is closed.

3. Credits

Bindery's design and generation services are paid for with credits. One credit is worth £0.01. The number of credits each action costs is shown before you confirm it; the current prices are:

Credits are deducted as the work is delivered. If an AI page or image fails for a technical reason, you are not charged for it and may retry for free; a page that is delivered but is not to your taste is charged, and you may regenerate it at the normal price.

Where credits come from. - Welcome credits are given once when you verify your account. They do not expire. - Purchased credits are bought in packs at the prices shown on the site. They do not expire. - Membership credits are added when you pay for a month of membership and expire when your membership ends; unused membership credits are not carried over.

Purchased credits are non-refundable. When you buy credits you ask us to make them available immediately and you acknowledge that, once they are available, you lose the statutory 14-day right to cancel the purchase. Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money. If we withdraw the service permanently, we will refund the purchase price of any purchased credits you have not used.

We may change credit prices for future actions at any time; the price shown when you confirm an action is the price you pay.

4. Membership

Membership is a one-month pass, paid once at the price shown on the site. It gives you the membership credits described above, keeps your books and drafts for as long as you are a member and for 90 days afterwards, lets you download your books in high resolution and gives you the member price on printed copies. It lasts 30 days from the day you pay and does not renew; buying another month while you are a member adds 30 days to it. Membership starts as soon as you pay and its credits are added at once; by paying you ask us to start straight away, and a month of membership is not refunded once paid, except where the law gives you a right to a refund.

5. Your photographs and your books

You keep all rights in the photographs you upload. By uploading them you give us permission to store, process, resize and send them to our service providers (including AI providers and our print partner) solely to make, show and print your books and to run the service.

You promise that you have the right to use every photograph you upload and that, where a photograph shows other people, you have their permission to use it in this way. You must not upload photographs that are unlawful, that you do not have the right to use, or that depict sexual content involving minors, incite violence or infringe someone else's rights. We may remove such content and close the account.

The pages, layouts and illustrations Bindery produces for you are yours to use for personal, non-commercial purposes, including printing them. We assign to you whatever rights we hold in the pages generated for your book, except for the Bindery name, mark and the design systems and templates themselves, which remain ours. Each printed book carries the Bindery mark on its back cover unless you remove it in the editor.

6. AI-generated content

Some books are illustrated by artificial intelligence working from your photographs and from design rules we have written. This has consequences you should understand before paying:

You decide whether a page is good enough: the reader shows you every page before you order a print, and you can regenerate any page for the normal credit price. Because of this, the cost of generated pages is not refundable on the grounds that you do not like the result.

7. Printed books

Ordering. Prices for printed books are shown at checkout, include VAT where applicable and include delivery to a UK address unless stated otherwise. You pay through Stripe when you place the order. We confirm the order by email, and production begins once the files are ready. Delivery times are estimates.

First-order discount: 10% off the price of the books and prints in your first paid order, one per account; we may change or withdraw it at any time.

No change-of-mind cancellation. Printed books are made to your specification from your own photographs. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 the 14-day cancellation right does not apply to personalised goods, so an order cannot be cancelled once production has started. If you tell us before production starts we will cancel and refund it.

Defects. If a printed book arrives damaged or misprinted, or differs from the book shown in the reader at the time you ordered, email [email protected] within 14 days of delivery with photographs of the problem. Once we have verified the defect we will reprint the book free of charge or, if you prefer, refund it. This does not affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Differences that are inherent in printing — small variations in colour between a screen and paper, or the trimming of a few millimetres at the page edges — are not defects.

Non-delivery. If a book does not arrive within 30 days of dispatch, tell us and we will investigate with the carrier and reprint or refund as appropriate.

8. Fair use and conduct

You must not: use the service for anything unlawful; attempt to gain access to other accounts or to our systems; use automated tools to create accounts or generate content in bulk; resell generated images or books commercially without our written agreement; or interfere with the service's operation. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and credits in such accounts may be forfeited.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may change these terms; we will post the new version here and, for material changes, email you at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new terms. Changes do not affect orders already placed.

10. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Otherwise, our total liability to you for any claim arising from the service in a given year is limited to the amount you paid us in that year. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when you placed an order, for business losses, or for loss of photographs or books you have not kept your own copies of — please keep your originals.

11. Data

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we use it, including that your photographs are sent to AI providers to make AI-illustrated books and to our print partner to print them, and that we do not use your photographs to train AI models.

12. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting your right as a consumer to bring a claim where you live. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable the rest continues to apply. These terms, the Privacy Policy and the prices shown on the site are the whole agreement between us.
